Design of the National Master Plan for Territorial Planning and Development (SNADT) up to 2035

The design of the National Plan for the territorial planning Development of Cameroon (SNADDT) is a study launched by the Government of Cameroon to establish a frame of reference in order to structure the national territory and achieve its objectives of development. This project, which is part of the strategy for growth and employment 2010-2020, was entrusted to STUDI International in 2015. The study began with a national strategic diagnosis that reveals the state of the territory, strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities by identifying and prioritizing the issues. This diagnosis focuses on issues relating to natural resources, infrastructure, social amenities, social and environmental aspects and sustainable development, the productive system and urbanization. The final deliverable of the study will be the National Master Plan for Territorial Planning and Development. The project, funded by the Cameroonian government, will involve the mobilization of 23 permanent experts for a period of 20 months and will be executed on behalf of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Town and Country Planning (MINEPAT). In November 2016, the workshop to restore and validate the diagnostic phase of SNADDT was held in Yaoundé. This important event mobilized the attention of the institutions concerned but also that of a much wider public as the fact was relayed by the local media. This reflects the challenges and expectations of this strategic study among Cameroonians. The audience particularly welcomed the commitment of STUDI and the importance we have given to this event with the mobilization of some twenty experts, Tunisians and Cameroonians, who have occasionally traveled to present the results of the first phase and provide the necessary technical clarifications. In view of the professionalism and innovation in the treatment of the different themes of the SNADDT, STUDI was presented with the congratulations of the client, and more generally of all the assistance, for the conduct of the project.
