After a first upgrading stage, Regie des Voies Aeriennes (Airport Authority) is laying the ground for the future. It is in this context that the second phase of the Priority Air Safety Project (PPSA) takes place representing the logical next step of the PPSA 1. It includes construction and renovation works of airport control towers not covered by the PPSA 1, construction of fire stations and ICAO safety fences, acquisition of firefighting and rescue vehicles, airport security equipment as well as other works and equipment intended for the improvement of aviation safety. The main asstes included in the PPSA 2 are Mbuji-Mayi Airport and Kindu Airport.
