The Congo River Basin is the second largest hydrological basin in the world with a flow of 42,000 m3/s in high season and 38,000 m3/s in dry season. The International Commission for the Congo Basin-Oubangui-Sangha (CICOS) was founded with the aim of promoting regional integration through sustainable and equitable exploitation of waterways. As part of the implementation of this vision, CICOS launched the project to develop the Strategic Action Plan for Integrated Water Resources management in the Congo Basin.
