The Gorom Aval has a fairly large irrigable potential of which more than 3,000ha were developed by private operators. These developments were carried out superficially and without a drainage network. They are no longer functional and are abandoned for the most part. An area of 2,500ha has been identified on the right bank of this section and a proposal for financing its development has been formulated to the French Development Agency (AFD).
