Description

The Ziguinchor Region has experienced many years of drought which has led to a rise in salt water, affecting all the rivers and banks of the Casamance River. This has resulted in the acceleration of the degradation process of several structures, particularly those including metal elements. Diagnosis conducted in 2001 and 2005 revealed very serious damage to the Emile Badiane Bridge in Ziguinchor and the Baïla and Diouloulou bridges.
