The drinking water supply of Abidjan is ensured by 94 boreholes capturing the water table of the terminal complex of Abidjan. The significant demographic pressure which the city is subjected to has led to a continuous increase in drinking water needs. The Government of Côte d'Ivoire has undertaken to initiate a series of actions to alleviate the water deficit by reinforcing the drinking water supply of the city from the groundwater of South Comoé.
